Because Oscar is Israeli, he’s a little prickly on the outside but has a big heart inside. At first I thought his name is Oscar like Oscar the grouch, then I remembered that I have this tendency to describe cats as Muppets.
How is he prickly? Well, the first couple of days I knew him he was annoyed with me because I was a total stranger and he didn’t know who I was. He might bop me with his paw, or scold me with a nibble (he doesn’t bite aggressively at all, just some nibbles to express himself.) I wasn’t sure how to break the ice with him. Then when I started sitting on the floor and he had a warm lap to access, things started to change. He wanted to snuggle that whole time. Oscar likes company and will let you know right away that he misses you. He will rub against your legs and you will feel it. He will start talking as soon as you show up as if to say, hey, old friend, how are you? He loves to chat and shoot the cat breeze. |
